There's a million things you can do with plain fabric. Dee made a top S1805 from yellow fabric she got at a thrift store. This Simplicity pattern was easy and any beginner should be able to make it. Dory made her sweatshirt with fabric she purchased on Fast Friday at fabric.com using S9384. She loved the outcome, even if she had to do a bit of tearing out (her mistake, not the patterns).
