AGRA DAY 2: Beyond The Taj Mahal! (Fatehpur Sikri, Mehtab Bagh & Jama Masjid) 🇮🇳✨ Welcome to Day 2 of our Agra journey! After witnessing the grandeur of the Taj Mahal up close, we set out to explore the peaceful riverside gardens, the historic lanes of Old Agra, and the legendary imperial capital of the Mughal Empire. If you loved Day 1, this episode takes you deeper into the stories, red sandstone architecture, and hidden corners that make Agra truly unforgettable. 📌 PLACES FEATURED IN THIS VLOG: Mehtab Bagh (The Moonlight Garden) Built along the banks of the Yamuna River, this 300 × 300 meter Persian-style Charbagh garden was planned by Emperor Babur and later restored by Emperor Shah Jahan. Designed as the ultimate pleasure garden, it sits directly opposite the Taj Mahal, providing an uninterrupted, peaceful reflection view without the crowds. Jama Masjid, Agra Commissioned in 1648 by Princess Jahanara Begum (eldest daughter of Shah Jahan), this grand congregational mosque stands proudly opposite Agra Fort. Raised on an elevated red sandstone terrace, it features three bulbous inverted-lotus domes decorated with zigzag marble inlay, sprawling open courtyards, and vibrant old-city bazaar surroundings. Fatehpur Sikri (The City of Victory) Founded in 1571 by Emperor Akbar to honor Sufi saint Sheikh Salim Chishti, this UNESCO World Heritage complex served as the capital of the Mughal Empire before being abandoned due to water shortages. Key highlights include: • Buland Darwaza: The towering 54-meter "Gate of Magnificence" celebrating Akbar's conquest of Gujarat. • Tomb of Sheikh Salim Chishti: A white marble sanctuary enclosed by handcrafted lattice jali work where visitors tie threads for blessings. • Royal Palaces: Walking through the red sandstone pavilions of Diwan-i-Khas, Panch Mahal, and the royal courtyards. ⏱️ TIMESTAMPS: 6:00 - Intro & Day 2 Plan 8:00 - Visiting Jama Masjid & Old Agra Streets 8:45 - Peaceful Morning at Mehtab Bagh (Best Taj View) 11:10 - Drive to Fatehpur Sikri 15:45 - The Massive Buland Darwaza 15:30 - Tomb of Sheikh Salim Chishti & Royal Courtyards 20:00- Sadar bazar Chat & faluda 22:50 - Final Thoughts & Wrapping Up Agra ❤️ If you enjoyed this travel vlog, please don't forget to LIKE, SHARE, and SUBSCRIBE for more travel stories!
