'Gotti' Never Showed the Inmate Who Beat John Gotti Bloody in Prison
John Travolta's 'Gotti' (2018) shows the crown, the crew and the family. It never shows Walter Johnson. The real version was worse: in July 1996 at USP Marion, an inmate reportedly beat John Gotti bloody in the rec area, a former Aryan Brotherhood member later testified Gotti allegedly offered money to have that inmate killed, and in 2001, within a month of his release, Johnson shot Metro Transit Police Officer Marlon Morales at a Washington station. This is the true story behind 'Gotti' and the inmate it left out.
In this documentary, you'll learn:
How John Gotti went from watching the December 16th, 1985 Castellano hit at Sparks Steak House to a life sentence on June 23rd, 1992, after Sammy Gravano testified to 19 murders
What life inside USP Marion looked like in 1996: a 6 by 8 foot cell, 23 hours a day, visits through plastic - and what Kevin Roach testified about Gotti, Barry "The Baron" Mills and the Aryan Brotherhood
What reportedly happened in July 1996, what Gotti's lawyer Bruce Cutler and his daughter Angel said ("There was no beating"), and the alleged bounty that was never carried out
How court papers tied Walter O. Johnson to the June 10th, 2001 murder of Officer Marlon Morales at the U Street-Cardozo Metro station - exactly one year before Gotti died
Which parts of 'Gotti' (2018) came from reality - and which were changed or left out
