Or did you keep taking from her while expecting her to remain in bloom? “Starved Rose” is about the emotional erosion that happens when someone is repeatedly diminished, and the courage it takes to recognize that being worn down is not the same as being worthless. I am not interested in romanticizing suffering or making brokenness my permanent identity. I want to explore what happens AFTER we recognize the damage. How we reclaim our autonomy, rebuild our self-worth, regulate our nervous systems, and create conditions where we can genuinely thrive. A rose doesn't need to apologize for struggling in an environment that couldn't sustain her.
