Soviet forces of the 3rd Ukrainian Front are dug in and waiting: layered defensive belts, minefields, anti-tank guns sighted on every approach, and orders to absorb the blow rather than break under it. This playthrough follows the Soviet side of the battle — holding prepared positions against armor and infantry, killing tanks at close range, giving ground where the line bends, and grinding down an offensive that never had the fuel to finish what it started.
