In Fiktive Tänze, a simple model of movement (a sequence of twelve quarter notes) is explored in a variety of contexts. Ultimately, the individual dances describe one and the same object from different perspectives or in different states.
Summed up in a single heading, the underlying question might be formulated as follows: How can something highly irregular appear regular—and, conversely, something highly regular appear irregular? All of this unfolds against the background of models of physical movement, however highly stylized they may be.
