Does Agentic Engineering mean we're all managers now? - Anton Drukh

There is a blurring line between being an Engineering Manager in the age of AI, and orchestrating a hoard of agents as an Engineer. Do both really deserve to be called 'management'? In this talk I take a closer look at the practices and skills required to manage engineers, and those required to orchestrate AI agents. While some similarities exist, there are also very distinct opposites that can do wonders to your success (either as a manager or an engineer), if you think about them carefully. I gave this talk at the Vancouver Engineering Leadership Collective meetup in October 2026.
