Isuzu D-MAX Build Begins | Installing a ‪@Utemaster_official‬ Canopy for Touring

This is where our new Isuzu D-MAX build officially begins. After years of travelling Australia and learning what actually works on the road, we knew this build needed to be approached differently from the start… not just adding accessories for the sake of it, but creating a setup designed around long-term touring, practicality and life off-grid. And for us, that foundation starts with the canopy. In Episode 1 of the build series, we install a ‪@Utemaster_official‬ canopy and begin shaping what will eventually become our full touring setup for travelling Australia. From storage and organisation to day-to-day usability and future modifications, this first upgrade plays a huge role in how the entire build will function moving forward. As we walk through the install and explain why we chose the Utemaster setup, we also talk through some of the bigger decisions behind the build itself… what matters to us after years on the road, what we’ve learned from previous setups, and why building a reliable touring vehicle is about much more than simply bolting on accessories. This episode really marks the beginning of a completely new chapter for us on the road. There’s something exciting about starting fresh with a new touring setup, especially knowing this vehicle will eventually carry us through some of the most remote parts of Australia over the years ahead.
