It's pumpkin spice season, and apparently, I'm a basic 'girl'. ☕🍂
You know - loves fall, gets a little too excited about sweater/flannel weather, and can't resist anything labeled pumpkin spice. Well, I decided to take my basic-ness one step further and turn everyone's favorite (or most aggressively judged 😂) fall latte into soap.
For this pour, coffee, cocoa powder, turmeric, and pumpkin pie spice to create those warm, earthy colors and textures. A blend of orange, cedarwood, patchouli, clove, and cinnamon leaf essential oils brings all those cozy fall vibes together.
In this video, you'll see the full pour from beginning to end, including the recipe (comment for exact measurements!), natural colorants, essential oil blend, design process, and final cut.

Tips & Tricks
Run every soap recipe through a lye calculator before you begin.
Cocoa powder and turmeric can create beautiful, earthy colors without synthetic pigments. Just remember that a little can go a long way!
Spices and coffee grounds add visual interest and texture, but too much can make a bar scratchy. Use a light hand.
Spicy essential oils like cinnamon leaf and clove require extra care. Always check their dermal limits and recommended usage rates for soap.
If you're going for that fluffy, whipped-cream look on top, allow your reserved soap batter to thicken enough to hold its shape before piping or sculpting.
Whole coffee beans make a fun garnish, but remove them before using the soap.
What I Learned
I work best under pressure. 😅
Roughly chopped coffee beans look way better than the single bean garnish.
This is definitely one of my favorite soaps!!
