KLM Airbus A330-300 to Riyadh | KLM Economy Class | Amsterdam to Riyadh | Trip Report

The Middle Eastern carriers are taking big chunks of business of the European carriers, who once dominated the Middle Eastern market. KLM, the world’s oldest airline, was one of the last to have a wide ME network before shrinking it massively in 2023, when destinations such as Abu Dhabi, Muscat, Kuwait City and Tehran received the cut. Only Riyadh (with a tag-on to Dammam) and Dubai remain.. And with the 25% load on my flight it would not surprise me to see Saudia taking over this route. It’s a loss for the ME customers, as KLM is a good airline and a first taste of Dutch culture. So, while flights last, let me give you a view of this rare route to Saudi Arabia! The highlight is how much they feed you on a flight under 6 hours.. More thank Qatar Airways, Emirates and Saudia! We’re flying on the KLM Airbus A330-300, a rare species as they only have a small sub fleet of 5 planes. These will be replaced in 2026 by the A350.
