Chris Rea - Nothing Left Behind (2017)

The album, "Road Songs For Lovers", continues Rea’s obsession with travel and motion and includes songs with titles such as Happy On The Road, The Road Ahead, The Last Train as well as Road Songs For Lovers itself. As the title suggests, Rea is on familiar ground once again, but his fans won’t be complaining. After all, the scenery on any road trip is an endless vista of observations and speculations, and Rea’s lyrics can evoke both with consummate ease, drawing you closer as the album progresses. The musical class on this record is, of course, a given. Road Songs For Lovers, the 27th chart LP of the 66-year-old's career, sold 6,865 copies in its first week of sale to chart at No.11. Road Songs For Lovers was recorded at Metropolis Studios earlier this year. Track Listing: Happy On The Road; Nothing Left Behind; Road Songs For Lovers; Money; Two Lost Souls; Rock My Soul; Moving On; The Road Ahead; Last Train; Angel Of Love; Breaking Point; Beautiful. Lyrics: I'm going way past tomorrow Way past yesterday Away from all my sorrows Till the chains in love fall away I'm gonna go so far Till my senses lose All traces, space and time Going so far ahead Till there's nothing left behind I got a big blue sky ahead I'm always looking for a brand new day The night brings the red tail lights Feel the chains of love fall away I'm gonna go so far 'Til my sense is lose All trace of space and time Going so far ahead Till there's nothing left behind Gonna sit on the high wind Gonna let myself go Gonna fly till there's nothing Nothing left below Gonna drive through this dark night Till tomorrow becomes today Till my mirrors got the sunrise Till the blue sky kills the grey Till there's nothing left behind Gonna go so far Till my senses lose All traces, space and time Going so far ahead Till there's nothing Nothing left behind Going so far ahead Till there's nothing left behind Till there's nothing left behind Ooh, yeah...
