Snowed In Morning | Cozy Indie Folk Songs for Coffee and Slow Living

Original indie folk songs for a snowed-in morning, a pot of coffee on the woodstove, and an old guitar out of the closet. The plow won't come till Wednesday, the tin roof is singing with snow, and I'm relearning three chords my father taught me. It's my first winter since I retired. The big storm came Sunday night and closed the road for three days, so I went to the back closet and brought out Dad's old guitar. Rusty strings, his worn pick in the case, and fingers that spent thirty-eight years on mill lumber. Sixteen story songs about those three snowbound days: new strings and sore fingers, elk in the lower field, a lantern when the power goes out, my wife pulling her chair close to listen, the song Dad used to play on the porch, and the county plow coming through. 🎵 Tracklist 0:00 Snow on the Old Tin Roof 4:56 The Plow Won't Come Till Wednesday 9:00 Dad's Guitar in the Back Closet 13:55 New Strings, Old Hands 18:05 G, C, and D 22:32 Chickadees at the Window 26:45 Elk in the Lower Field 31:09 Sore Fingers by the Stove 35:18 The Lantern When the Power Goes 40:04 Your Chair Pulled Close 45:02 The One He Played on the Porch 49:03 Play the One About the Lake 52:56 My Hands Kept the Shapes 57:03 Stomping Snow Off My Boots 1:00:42 When the County Plow Comes Through 1:04:52 Tomorrow I'll Play It Again About Kettle Ridge Kettle Ridge is a songwriting project.
