Who Is Satan? What the Bible Says About the Devil | Genesis 3:1-15

This sermon asks who Satan is and what the Bible actually says about the devil, starting with the serpent in the Garden of Eden. It looks at why Christians understand the serpent to be Satan, what his names (accuser, slanderer, deceiver, enemy) tell us, and how much of our picture of the devil comes from Dante rather than Scripture. It also looks at Ezekiel 28 and Isaiah 14, and explains why God did not create evil. The sermon shows that Satan works by doubt and half-truth, not by forcing us to sin, and that we remain responsible for our own choices. It calls listeners to resist him with the armor of God, to know Scripture well enough to answer his lies as Jesus did, and to lean on God's strength instead of their own. It closes with the hope of Genesis 3:15: Christ has crushed the serpent's head, and those who trust him are on the winning side.
