One massive day in the Highlands. Today I’m looking back at an epic trip from April 2025 to summit the iconic Glen Dessary triple: Sgùrr nan Coireachan, Garbh Chioch Mhòr, and the mighty Sgùrr na Cìche. I haven't been able to get out on the hills as much lately due to some ongoing knee problems, so revisiting this grueling 16.7-mile journey has been a great way to stay motivated. This route involves steep ascents, a rugged ridge walk, and a final scramble up the unmistakable cone of Sgùrr na Cìche. Munros 193, 194, and 195. It was a physical and mental battle through some of Scotland's most rocky terrain, but those spring views over to Knoydart and the Cuillins were unforgettable. Stats for the Day: Date: April 2025 Distance: 16.7 miles Ascent : 5385ft Munros: 3 (Sgùrr nan Coireachan, Garbh Chioch Mhòr, Sgùrr na Cìche) If you've ever dealt with injury setbacks while Munro bagging, let me know how you stayed sane in the comments! #Munros #GlenDessary #SgurrNaCiche #HighlandHiking #Scotland #HikingInjury #ThrowbackHiking 0:00 The Glen Dessary Challenge (16.7 Miles) 1:07 The Long Walk In: Passing the Lodge 2:34 The Ascent: Heading for Sgùrr nan Coireachan 4:01 Summit 1: Sgùrr nan Coireachan (Munro 193) 5:36 The Brutal Ridge to Garbh Chioch Mhòr 7:02 Summit 2: Garbh Chioch Mhòr (Munro 194) 8:51 The "Pointy" Peak: Approaching Sgùrr na Cìche 10:14 Summit 3: Sgùrr na Cìche (Munro 195) 11:22 360-Degree Views & Reflections 11:55 The 3 mile Mile Walk Out
