Farming has always been more than just a job for our family. 🌾 It is the tradition that raised our family and helped bring us to where we are today. Today, we spent a beautiful day at our father’s paddy field in rural Sri Lanka. Since Dad was heading to the Lunugala Sunday market the next day, we worked together to prepare fresh vegetables for the market. We harvested cassava roots and collected fresh cassava leaves, one of our family’s favorite traditional foods. While my father and brother prepared the vegetables, I made a simple and delicious Sri Lankan ridge gourd sambol using fresh ingredients.
