We Built A Foundation in Two Days | Sugarhouse From Scratch: ep1

A good foundation sets the tone for the entire build. This weekend we spent two days perfecting our stone foundation to build our new sugarhouse on. This sugarhouse project has been a year long project, including felling and milling all the lumber from pine trees on our own property. This weekend marked the official start of construction, with the installation of the stone foundation pad and placing the 6x6 pressure treated Timbers the building will sit on. Building a foundation seems simple in theory: dig, fabric, stone, level. In reality it can be a finicky, challenging project where every mistake will compound for decades.
