I Had To Read Mikhail Bulgakov’s The Master and Margarita Twice to Understand It

Russia’s dizzying fantasia is a bizarre and entertaining work of fiction in the canon of magical realism literature. All of Moscow is the devil’s stage! It took me 2 tries to finally get why this is such a strange yet hilarious story. The Master and Margarita will always be my go-to fantasy read for darker themes concerning justice, morality, and good and evil combined with satire and history. It’s even got some witchcraft and romance with a talking black cat who loves to play chess and drink vodka. I have to admit, I had a hard time reading it for the first time, but the second time I read it, I couldn’t stop. It’s witty, imaginative, and humorous. Can’t wait to read other stories such as A Dog’s Heart and Morphine. Books mentioned: 1. Faust - Goethe 2. Divine Comedy - Dante 3. Dead Souls – Nikolai Gogol 4. The Government Inspector – Nikolai Gogol 5. Eugene Onegin – Alexander Pushkin 6. Don Quixote – Cervantes 7. Leo Tolstoy – Anna Karenina 8. Heart of a Dog – Mikhail Bulgakov 9. Morphine – Mikhail Bulgakov - Please don’t forget to like this video and subscribe to Read A Day Club if you haven’t already.
