Five money mistakes that burnt me in my 20s and 30s & What I want other women to learn from my experiences.
I’m sharing these because I have lived through them, and I know how expensive some of these lessons were to me.
If I could go back, I would be more careful about lending money, more cautious about taking on debt for other people, more deliberate about business planning, more intentional about lifestyle inflation, and much more curious about investing and pensions from the beginning of my career.
But hey, we cannot go back and change the decisions we made years ago. What we can do is learn, make better decisions today, and pass that knowledge on.
And if you are a woman in your 40s, 50s, or beyond, please don’t think it is too late to improve your relationship with money. You may not be able to change the past, but you can still make informed decisions about your future.
Let’s stop treating financial literacy as something we can afford to learn later or ignore.
I’d love to hear from you: What is one money lesson you learnt the hard way?
Share it in the comments. Your experience might be exactly what another woman needs to hear.
