Kristaps Porzingis Update & Thursday Fantasy Basketball Waiver Wire Preview

Josh Lloyd Fantasy Basketball Hub https://joshlloydfantasy.com/ OVERVIEW Thursday's fantasy basketball slate offers some tough lineup and streaming decisions, with just two games and a lot of uncertainty around roles, injuries, and early player usage. I dig into the value and risks of players like Jaylon Tyson, DeMar DeRozan, and the fallout around Kristaps Porziņģis—including whether to make early drops or speculative adds. I also break down which streamers actually have practical value for category and points leagues given the short slate and upcoming chunk schedules. KEY TAKEAWAYS Jaylon Tyson is my top streaming target for Thursday, especially if Jarrett Allen is out, given the likely increase in minutes and possible backup point guard duty for Cleveland. If Kristaps Porziņģis is traded, it's actually worse for Gui Santos and Yaxel Lendeborg's short-term value than if Porziņģis just stays sidelined, since the Warriors are almost certain to bring back a rotation player in any deal. There’s no need to preemptively drop injured players like Kristaps Porziņģis from your IL slot unless you need the space—wait until you do. When choosing Thursday streamers, prioritize players from Cleveland, Denver, Oklahoma City, or Philadelphia, as all four play three quality games in the next five nights, maximizing short-term value. Some popular streamers like Anfernee Simons and Jared McCain offer scoring and threes but are extremely limited in rebounds, assists, and defensive stats—use them for category-specific needs, not as well-rounded adds. The notion that “pro” leagues are always ahead of the curve is flawed; heavy add rates don’t necessarily indicate sharp fantasy moves, exemplified by Andre Drummond’s recent surge in Yahoo “pro” leagues. Consider holding speculative candidates like Oso Ighodaro or Camara on your bench through week 1 even if you risk losing the week, as one-game sample sizes can be misleading and patience may pay off. Team schedules are crucial—Portland and Phoenix have only two games in the next seven days, so consider dropping borderline pieces for better streaming value elsewhere.
