Why Do People Stay In Toxic Relationships?
Why do people keep going back to relationships they already know are draining them, hurting them and destroying their peace?
In this video, I’m talking about toxic relationship cycles, manipulation, mental abuse, financial instability, broken promises, emotional dependency, spiritual warfare and why so many people stay stuck in situations they know are unhealthy.
Sometimes people stay because of love.
Sometimes because of children.
Sometimes because of money, housing, history, fear, familiarity or the hope that things will finally change.
But every time you return to the same chaos, the same disrespect, the same manipulation and the same broken promises, you can come out a little more drained than before.
At some point you have to ask yourself:
Am I fighting for love — or am I trapped in a cycle that is destroying me?
This video also looks at the spiritual side of toxic relationships. I believe spiritual warfare is real, but I also believe people are responsible for the choices they make. Prayer, repentance, discernment, accountability and boundaries all matter.
Ephesians 6 reminds us that some battles go beyond what we can see physically. But that doesn’t mean ignoring red flags or excusing harmful behavior.
If someone has repeatedly shown you they are dishonest, abusive, controlling, manipulative, irresponsible or unwilling to change, eventually you have to stop listening to promises and start paying attention to patterns.
You don’t have to spend another year, another decade or the rest of your life trapped in the same cycle.
Sometimes stepping out on faith means trusting God enough to make a different decision.
Protect your peace. Protect your health. Protect your children. Protect your purpose.
And stop giving somebody else so much control over the quality of your life.
