Welcome to Wander With Wilsons! ❤️ In Episode 7 of our Thailand family travel series, we spend our final morning in Chiang Mai before flying to Hua Hin—our home away from home in Thailand. We start the morning at Meliá Chiang Mai, exploring the hotel gym, and enjoying one last hotel breakfast. We also give you another look inside the kids’ club and stop by the lounge for snacks while waiting for our ride to the airport. We’re also taking you back to Winglet, a cozy Chiang Mai café we visited on the day of our family photoshoot. This family-owned café serves American-style breakfast, coffee, matcha, and beautiful Thai desserts. One of our favorite details was the artwork decorating the café, painted by the owner’s talented eight-year-old daughter! After all our shopping at the Chiang Mai Sunday Night Market, we needed another suitcase to fit everything we bought. Once everything was packed, it was finally time to say goodbye to Chiang Mai and take a short flight to Hua Hin. The moment we landed, it felt like coming home. Hua Hin is a beach town about three and a half hours from Bangkok, and it’s where we hope to live someday if everything goes according to plan. We checked into our beach-access Airbnb, explored the beach, and ended the evening with inexpensive and delicious local Thai food. Our bilingual nine-year-old daughter even ordered food by herself—and she did an amazing job! Traveling in Thailand with two children isn’t always perfect or predictable, but these are the moments that make family travel so special. We hope our experiences help other families feel more confident planning a trip to Thailand with kids.
