Safar ka aghaaz Chitral city se hua, jahan se hum pehle 'Ayun Valley' (Ayoon) pahuche. Ayun ke haseen aur green mazaahir dekhne ke baad, asli off-road adventure shuru hua. Kalash Valley tak jaane wala rasta kafi kacha, narrow, aur pathreela hai, jis ke liye hum ne 4x4 Jeeps ka istemal kiya. Chitral se Ayun tak ka rasta smooth hai, lekin Ayun se Kalash Valley tak ka 4x4 track taqreeban 1.5 se 2 ghantay leta hai, jis mein gari hilti hui paharon ki ajeeb-o-ghareeb khayiyon se guzarti hai. Is rough drive ke baad jab hum ne pehli baar Kalash Valley mein qadam rakha, to hamare hosh uray reh gaye! Yahan ke logon ka rehen-sehen, un ka dress, un ki zaban, aur un ki tehzeeb baki poore Pakistan se bilkul alag aur anokhi hai.
