Get my complete printable home-cleaning guide: https://olditalianway.com/ Look at your kitchen faucet right now, down where the metal meets the counter: the gray-white chalky ring you can scratch dust off with a thumbnail, the white scale growing inward in the spout holes, the stream gone crooked because of it. You knelt there one evening with a hard-water spray and a sponge until your wrist ached and your eyes watered, it came up one shade lighter, and a week later it was back exactly as it was. So you decided the water where you live is just bad water, and you have been standing the dish soap bottle on the spot ever since. Sit down. That crust is MINERAL, calcium and magnesium out of your own tap, dried in one layer at a time until it set like thin stone, and stone does not scrub off, it only dissolves in something sour. It was never your scrubbing. Today I show you fifteen of the small tricks my mother and my grandmother used, in the right order, the whole of it, with the reason each one works, so you stop sanding the gloss off things you meant to save. In this video: • Why every hard-water spray failed you — you cannot wash a mineral away, you can only dissolve it • Dry mess off FIRST, always, because dry mess plus water is paste and loose grit under a cloth is sandpaper • Warm the vinegar twenty seconds, use it straight, and DWELL a full 20 minutes in a bag over the spout • Baking soda paste on the oven door glass for an hour, then a plastic scraper held almost flat • Why baking soda and vinegar mixed in a bowl cancel each other out, and how to use them apart • Tennis balls in a sock, a dry rubber glove for pet hair, a squeegee for carpet, salt for cast iron • NEVER put bleach with vinegar or with an ammonia glass cleaner, the gas burns your airway in a closed room • The dishwasher filter basket that twists out with two fingers, and the smell that has been living in it Tell me in the comments what you found down in that dishwasher filter mesh, and whether the faucet came bright for the first time in years, and your county, how old your house, and how old that faucet (harder water and older pipes build it faster). I read every one.
