Montgomery Clift: The Hollywood Star Whose Life Changed After an Accident

Montgomery Clift was one of the most gifted young actors Hollywood ever produced. Then, on a dark road in Mississippi in May 1956, a single car crash changed his face, his career, and his life. In this documentary, we follow the real story of the actor who refused the studio contract system and became a star in Red River, A Place in the Sun, and From Here to Eternity. We look at his close friendship with Elizabeth Taylor, the night of the crash during the filming of Raintree County, and the question people still debate: did the accident destroy him, or were his struggles already there? We also cover his later films, including The Misfits and Judgment at Nuremberg, the difficult production of Freud, and his death in July 1966 at just 45 years old. This is the story of talent, pain, loyalty, and an actor who kept performing even when it was hardest to be seen.
