Selling elsewhere will pay more, but you won't get any merits. So Find a system in your power control which has good mining (pristine belts) and has a station which will buy the ore for an above average price. If you get lucky, you can make 6000-8000 merits per hour on Platinum, or up 50,000 merits per hour on Core Mining. I know people doing this with deep core mining as well as like I did in video with surface mining.
