Patrice Rushen (1974) • Velvet Vocals & Strings | Classic Soul Ladies • Deep Soul • Golden Soul

✨ Welcome to Velvet Soul Ladies — Your ultimate sanctuary for timeless music. This collection is inspired by Patrice Rushen and the golden era of soul — a pianist’s touch guiding the groove, a velvet-clear lead voice riding tight drums and warm bass, with horns answering in bright punctuation and strings floating like streetlight haze. Recorded in that classic decade-spanning sound: close-mic intimacy, room-air reverb, and a band that plays like they’re locked in on one take. Liner notes: “Choose My Devotion” opens the door with poise and promise, then “Azure Reminders” lingers like perfume on a letter you shouldn’t reread. By the time “Fascinate Me (Try To Forget)” arrives, the heart’s doing that familiar dance between pride and longing—until “Word Is Out” closes the side with truth spoken plain, no more hiding in the strings. For fans of: late-night turntable therapy / elegant groove for city drives / brass-kissed heartbreak ballads / sweet soul for a slow dance 📀 Tracklist 0:00 - Choose My Devotion 4:52 - Azure Reminders 8:44 - Brings To Mind 13:04 - Fascinate Me (Try To Forget) 16:28 - Finished With Feeling Lonesome 22:03 - Truly Tangible (Can't Shake the Thought) 27:15 - When Devotion Dwells 31:09 - Eyes High 35:33 - Feel the Rhythm Guide Me 40:51 - Word Is Out 46:11 - Loop Album Subscribe to Velvet Soul Ladies and help keep these classic sides alive, one spin at a time. ✨ Keep the gold spinning.
