While down at King of the Hammers on Means Dry Lake, Trevor links up with desert shredder Blake Wilkey to test out his brand-new 1992 Ford Bronco crawler build: the "Bloodshark"!
Blake and his crew put this build together in under 6 weeks on a tight deadline for KOH. Before even doing a proper shakedown run, Trevor and Blake strapped in, dropped it into 4-Low, and pointed it straight up a gnarly boulder climb—testing out suspension flex, side-hill stability, and low-speed crawling!
Underneath the classic red-and-white body, Blake ditched the factory Twin Traction Beam (TTB) setup in favor of bulletproof 1-ton axles: a 2005+ Ford Super Duty Dana 60 front axle and a Sterling 10.5 rear axle fitted with our WFO Concepts Sterling 10.5 rear truss. The front end runs Desolate radius arms and bolt-on shock mounts sharing the steering box bolts, cycling King 3.0 internal bypass coilovers with King hydraulic bump stops, paired with our WFO 7075 billet aluminum tie rod, a PSC hydro-assist ram, and a BorgWarner 1356 manual-shift transfer case conversion.
Out back, Kevin scanned the chassis to engineer a custom rear link kit utilizing 28-inch trailing arms with UHMW skids bolted into the factory leaf spring hangers, custom C-notched frame sections for maximum up-travel, and King 2.5 coilovers swinging 40-inch tires on Method beadlock wheels.
