It's 5 in the morning as I write this, haunted by a 16-bit skeleton.
I hear the cackles and the laughter at my suffering, but I press on.
Also, hey, this one only has 8 and sometimes 9 channels.
What does that mean? Only 8 to 9 notes/sounds are playing at a time.
The SNES Sound-chip was only capable of producing 8 sounds at a time, so composers had to break down their musical ideas to bare necessities.
Case in point, this cover got seriously gutted on the channel pass.
But hey, authenticity is key right? Oh, about the 9th channel, don't worry about it. It's my sorry excuse for calling a mixture of two tracks a composite instrument. (HEY!)
Special thanks to RKosmic for doing all of us a solid and recording Komplete versions of the in-game soundtrack, it's was really helpful to have that and Mick Gordon's OST version to draw from.
"Warlord"
Composed by Mick Gordon
SNES Cover by KuppoJoe
Created using Ableton Live 10 and the C700 Plugin

TMNT IV: Turtles in Time

Sim City
(Hurdy Gurdy was just a synth from this.)
Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy Kong Quest

Super Empire Strikes Back
(Strings, holy heck the strings were a godsend.)
Super Metroid
(Choir, if you can believe it, only one voice for most of the song.)

Killer Instinct 2013
