Nomad life in Mongolia’s most remote mountains

I traveled to far western Mongolia, a remote and isolated region of the country, known for its rugged landscapes and the Altai Mountains, where Mongolia meets Russia and China. This area is home to ethnic Kazakhs and Kazakh nomads who roam with their herds. To understand life here, I stayed in traditional gers or yurts in the middle of a snowstorm and asked a Kazakh local about their history and way of life in Bayan-Olgii, Mongolia.
