Warda – Batwanes Beek | وردة – بتونس بيك (Gospel Soul Version) | The Arab Soul Sessions

بتونس بيك لوردة… بروح السول والغوسبل 🎷 Warda's "Batwanes Beek" reimagined as a slow-burn 1960s gospel soul session. One of Warda Al-Jazairia's most loved Egyptian songs, written by Omar Batisha and composed by Salah El Sharnouby. "Batwanes beek" means "I feel at home with you": a light, tender love song. We kept its tenderness and let it grow, from a whisper at the piano to a full gospel choir. 🎧 In this session • A slow 6/8 groove that starts with just piano and voice • Hammond organ, strings and a gospel choir answering the lead • A crying tenor sax solo and a final key change Original song by Warda · Lyrics: Omar Batisha · Music: Salah El Sharnouby 💬 Which Arabic song should we bring to the club next?
