Republic of Ireland beat Finland 1-0 at a sold-out Tallaght stadium in Dublin to secure a play-off spot for the world cup, for the first time in their history. Despite a sloppy first half performance, Ireland settled nicely into the second half and secured the goal from a free-kick which was put into the back of the net by Lily Agg. Agg came on for injured Ruesha Littlejohn in the first half. Solid performance from the girls in green in front of 7,000 adoring fans.
