In EP 72. In this episode I talk with Stephen Wise, founder of Demandflow, a design and Webflow studio that builds marketing sites for scale-up and enterprise marketing teams. After years of building almost only on Webflow, Demandflow now also builds with Astro, Sanity and Next.js, and Stephen explains why the hardest part is still handing a site over to non-technical marketers.
We talk about why knowing a tool is no longer much of an advantage, what an agency actually sells when AI can build the site, the AI tools his team really uses, and whether all this helps freelancers or agencies more. We also get into Source by Webflow, why the builders have to come first, and why credit-based pricing worries him. Before that, Stephen shares how he went from dropping out at 18 to running a team of close to 20.
