Heat, Hills & Hard Enduro | Two Weeks Until Race Day

We're two weeks out from our next hard enduro race, and unfortunately our training weekend landed right in the middle of an Alabama heat wave. It was brutally hot, but with race day getting close, we weren't going to skip the ride. Five of us headed into the woods before lunch with a pretty good mix of skill levels — three riders faster than me, me trying to keep up, and a newer rider getting a taste of the technical stuff. With the race coming up, the goal was to put in some quality seat time on the rocks, roots, hills, and technical singletrack we expect to see on race day. This is Part 1 of the ride, covering everything before lunch. After lunch, another rider joined us and took out my KTM 500 EXC four-stroke. He was also running a camera, so Part 2 will add another POV and a very different bike to the mix. Two weeks until race day. Time to find out if the heat training pays off.
