Welcome to Part 7 of Engineering Mechanics In this video, we solve 4 important numerical problems with step-by-step explanations based on the laws of forces. This lecture is useful for B.Tech Civil Engineering students and beginners learning Engineering Mechanics. 📚 Topics Covered Parallelogram Law of Forces Triangle Law of Forces Resultant Force: Magnitude and Direction Equilibrium of Forces Applications of Forces in Engineering Mechanics 📝 Numerical Problems Solved Problem 1: Resultant Pull on a Boat Two horses pull a boat along a canal with forces of 890 N and 1068 N acting at an angle of 60°. Find the magnitude of the resultant pull and the angles made by the resultant with each force. Solution starts: 01:21 Problem 2: Resultant of Pulls and Pushes Two forces of 20 N and 15 N act at an angle of 60°. Determine the resultant magnitude and direction when: (a) Both forces are pulls. (b) The 20 N force is a pull and the 15 N force is a push. Solution starts: 11:30 Mistake: 13:00 (The minus sign after 225 will be Plus sign) Problem 3: Finding an Unknown Force The resultant of two forces, P and 30 N, is 40 N and is inclined at 60° to the 30 N force. Determine the magnitude and direction of the unknown force P. Solution starts: 18:30 Problem 4: Force Exerted by a Man on the Floor A man weighing 712 N holds one end of a rope passing over a pulley, with a 534 N weight attached to the other end. Determine the force with which the man's feet press against the floor. Solution starts: 25:30 If you have any doubts, write your questions in the comment section. Your suggestions and feedback are always welcome.
