EP DESK, pasighat, 25 October: Kuri Tateh has denied allegations of leading the vandalism during the bandh-related unrest on the night of October 23, 2026, after some detained protesters reportedly mentioned her name during investigation.
In a video statement, Tateh clarified that she had joined the protest as a concerned citizen and denied leading or instigating anyone to engage in violence or damage property.
The allegations surfaced following incidents of vandalism that reportedly affected several properties, including the residence of a local MLA and the property of the State BJP president.
Tateh has maintained that her participation was in connection with the peaceful protest and rejected claims linking her to the subsequent acts of vandalism.
Tateh has urged that her participation in the protest be viewed separately from the allegations of vandalism, reiterating that she had no role in leading the acts of violence. The police investigation is expected to shed further light on the allegations and the sequence of events surrounding the unrest.
