Kim You jung in Dear X Same Face, Three Different Messages

Kim You-jung has given us a public face, an open heart and a mask. In Dear X her job was the opposite of what we know: show less, so that Baek Ah-jin is hard to read. We put three roles side by side: Do-hee in My Demon, a CEO with a public face to uphold; Bo-ra in 20th Century Girl, a heart that cannot stay hidden; and Baek Ah-jin in Dear X, a top actress who wears a mask to survive. Using what she herself said in interviews, we follow how she approached Ah-jin: afraid of the role at first, then emptying herself and keeping her expression restrained. Then we turn to 100 Days of Deception on tvN and Netflix, where she plays Lee Ga-kyeong, a top pickpocket working as an undercover spy. We have only seen the trailers, so we do not judge the performance.
