His beautiful earrings swing as He shines in Gokula. Frightened of Mother Yashoda, He runs away from the wooden grinding mortar, but she runs faster and catches Him from behind. 🌸 Verse 2 rudantaṁ muhur netra-yugmaṁ mṛjantaṁ karāmbhoja-yugmena sātaṅka-netram muhuḥ śvāsa-kampa-trirekhāṅka-kaṇṭha- sthita-graivaṁ dāmodaraṁ bhakti-baddham Translation: Lord Damodara cries and repeatedly rubs His frightened eyes with His lotus-like hands. His rapid breathing causes the necklace around His neck to tremble. I bow down to Lord Damodara, who is bound by the pure devotion and loving affection of Mother Yashoda. 🌸 Verse 3 itīdṛk sva-līlābhir ānanda-kuṇḍe sva-ghoṣaṁ nimajjantam ākhyāpayantam tadīyeśita-jñeṣu bhaktair jitatvaṁ punaḥ prematas taṁ śatāvṛtti vande Translation: Through His wonderful childhood pastimes, Lord Krishna immerses the residents of Gokula in an ocean of spiritual happiness. He reveals that although He is the Supreme Lord, He can be conquered by the pure love of His devotees. With deep affection, I offer Him my obeisances hundreds of times. 🌸 Verse 4 varaṁ deva mokṣaṁ na mokṣāvadhiṁ vā na cānyaṁ vṛṇe ’haṁ vareśād apīha idaṁ te vapur nātha gopāla-bālaṁ sadā me manasy āvirāstāṁ kim anyaiḥ Translation: O Lord, although You can grant every blessing, I do not desire liberation or any other benediction. My only prayer is that Your beautiful childhood form as Bala Gopala may remain forever within my heart. What need have I for any other blessing? 🌸 Verse 5 idaṁ te mukhāmbhojam atyanta-nīlair vṛtaṁ kuntalaiḥ snigdha-raktaiś ca gopyā muhuś cumbitaṁ bimba-raktādharaṁ me manasy āvirāstām alaṁ lakṣa-lābhaiḥ Translation: O Lord, may Your beautiful lotus face, surrounded by soft, dark, curling hair and adorned with reddish lips, remain forever in my heart. Mother Yashoda repeatedly kisses Your enchanting face. The remembrance of this divine beauty is more precious to me than countless material blessings. 🌸 Verse 6 namo deva dāmodarānanta viṣṇo prasīda prabho duḥkha-jālābdhi-magnam kṛpā-dṛṣṭi-vṛṣṭyāti-dīnaṁ batānu- gṛhāṇeśa mām ajñam edhy akṣi-dṛśyaḥ Translation: O Supreme Lord Damodara, O unlimited Vishnu, I offer my humble obeisances unto You. I am helpless and immersed in an ocean of worldly suffering. Kindly shower Your merciful glance upon me, accept this ignorant soul, and reveal Yourself before my eyes. 🌸 Verse 7 kuverātmajau baddha-mūrtyaiva yadvat tvayā mocitau bhakti-bhājau kṛtau ca tathā prema-bhaktiṁ svakāṁ me prayaccha na mokṣe graho me ’sti dāmodareha Translation: O Lord Damodara, just as You delivered the two sons of Kuvera while bound to the wooden mortar and blessed them with devotion, please also grant me pure loving devotion unto You. I have no desire for liberation; I seek only Your prema-bhakti. 🌸 Verse 8 namas te ’stu dāmne sphurad-dīpti-dhāmne tvadīyodarāyātha viśvasya dhāmne namo rādhikāyai tvadīya-priyāyai namo ’nanta-līlāya devāya tubhyam Translation: I offer my respectful obeisances to the brilliantly shining rope that binds Your belly and to Your divine belly, which is the resting place of the entire universe.
