GENESIS 2026: Innovate. Ideate. Inspire. | Indus Valley World School

On 26 September 2026, Indus Valley World School came alive with ideas, innovation and youthful energy as we hosted GENESIS 2026, our inaugural inter-school Tech Fest, bringing together young innovators, coders, creators and thinkers from 15 schools across Kolkata. The day began with a grand Opening Ceremony, graced by our Chief Guest, Mr Debashish Chakraborty, ISRO Scientist, alongside our CEO, Mr S.L. Gupta, Principal Mrs Reshma Bhattacharya, esteemed judges and members of the school leadership team. The ceremonial lighting of the lamp, soulful choir, spectacular dance performance and inspiring addresses set the perfect tone for a day dedicated to imagination, technology and innovation. The excitement continued with ten challenging and immersive events, spanning cybersecurity battles, robot wars, coding challenges, film pitches, technology debates, digital creativity and a 48-hour Hackathon—giving students a platform to think differently, collaborate fearlessly and turn ideas into action. A Celebration of Sportsmanship IVWS was adjudged the Overall Champion. However, in a gracious gesture of sportsmanship and to uphold the true spirit of competition, the host school chose to relinquish the Overall Championship title. The honour was consequently conferred upon Bhavan's Gangabux Kanoria Vidyamandir, the Runner-up, while B.D.M. International, the Second Runner-up, was elevated to the position of First Runner-up. The gesture beautifully reflected what GENESIS stands for—not merely winning, but celebrating talent, camaraderie, fairness and the spirit of participation. Our heartfelt gratitude to our Chief Guest, Mr Debashish Chakraborty; our CEO, Mr S.L. Gupta; our Principal, Mrs Reshma Bhattacharya; our esteemed judges; the school leadership team; participating schools; dedicated teachers; and, most importantly, our incredible student organising team for making GENESIS 2026 a grand success.
