Immediate Implant Temporary: How It's Made & What It Is

I recently had the opportunity to fabricate one of theses devices and present this video for a live demo with the Seattle Study Club. This device, let's call it an immediate temporary implant, serves two purposes. First, it can be used to help guide the placement of the implant. Secondly, after the implant is placed and the temporary abutment is in position you then fill the hollow space of the pontic with temporary material. You then cut the wings off the pontic and it's good to go. In the video I somewhat outline the purpose of this device and how it's made. Also, towards the end of the video you capture a glimpse of my father, who is also a dental technician and was apart of the fabrication process. He is a huge inspiration to me and I would not be where I am in this field without his guidance (there is still a lot I have yet to accomplish). This is something I haven't done before and the surgeons at Premier Valley Oral Surgery & Dental Implants in Fresno, CA said they certainly haven't seen one of these before either. It ended up a total success. The patient went home with 2 new implants and immediate temps on both of them, using this technique. The implants used were Straumann and the temp abutments used were their longer metal screw-retained abutments that you shorten to fit.
