"Aube Mauve" - Soïg Sibéril Guitar: Michael Kilpatrick, Melbourne Australia Flute: Wony Min, Melbourne Australia *Flute Played: Modern Traverso made by Jean-François Beaudin http://www.flutebeaudin.com Sheet Music: https://thesession.org/tunes/11257 There is not much of my own creation in my flute playing here and much credit to two great flute players: Jean-Michel Veillon (in the album [Just Around The Window] by Den with the composer) Kevin Crawford (in the album [Music and Mischief]) Aube Mauve, the purple dawn (Sunrise) made me think about a story of Edvard Munch, a Norwegian impressionist painter. He has suffered mental illness and depression throughout his life and is well known to many, probably by the iconic [The Scream], a very dark and depressing piece. The story goes that he commissioned this work [The Sun], for a university auditorium, after he met Van Gogh who also suffered serious mental illness and miserable life yet whose paintings constantly envision hope.
