AK cars and Wagga Bomen viaduct SSR, PN and Qube trains 11 October 2026.

A warm sunny Riverina day brought to life with train movements across the viaducts bridging the Murrumbidgee river flood plain and a journey to Boree Creek. Having started in the Bomen Wagga Wagga section witnessing train movements our attention is shifted further south as we follow the 49 class lead AK cars for their annual inspection of the Oaklands branch (NSW) with its Boree Creek terminus. Using new software, hardware and approaches this is a test of compute power and editing capacity. Having endured with the old operating system which took hours to download, edit and render this new approach has been much quicker so far. Though the proof is in your views of the presentation. The Riverina area of NSW is rich in agricultural production and the wheat, non-blooming canola and other crops are maturing in a good season. The wheat is maturing nicely. May this be a large and successful harvest. May the silos and bunkers swell with grain and keep people employed and earning a dollar. Enjoying the secondary benefits of this is witnessing the trains. First across the viaducts. With NRs, 81s XPTs, a QE, QLs, 82, N, GMs and 49 class all gracing the viewfinder. If you are ever out in Boree Creek call into the pub and have a drink.
