10.25 inch Display Installation Mazda 6 GL 2016 - 2024

Replacement of the factory 8" display with the aftermarket 10.25" touch screen in my Mazda 6 GL 2022. It isn't an Android head unit. It is only a bigger screen. It can be installed on Mazda 6 2016 - 2024 with a factory 7" or 8" display. The display does not change or impact any of factory features. It only displays the picture from Mazda's Connectivity Master Unit equipped with MZD Connect system. The new display has the resolution of 1920 x 720 pixels, and is connected to CMU via LVDS cable that transfers the digital video signal 800 x 480 pixels and touch interactions. As the result the input picture with aspect ratio 16:9 is squeezed to 16:6 but does not lose the quality thanks to a digital interface. That means that anything displayed on the new screen like MZD, a reversing camera, 360 cameras, Android Auto or CarPlay is going to be slightly squeezed. After a few days, you can easily get used to it. In my opinion, the advantage of a bigger screen with a very good quality of the picture is more valuable than the cons of the stretched aspect ratio. The quality of reversing camera or 360 cameras is not going to improve with the new display, because Mazda installed low quality analog cameras. However, I managed to fix the stretched picture in Android Auto by installing OEM AA MZDv74 Mods and changing in XML files the parameter PAR (Pixel Aspect Ratio) from 10670 to 15800. See the video how to install the Mods, but this parameter isn't changed yet on the recording    • Unlock Android Auto Touchscreen in Mazda M...   If you don't like the stretched picture in Android Auto, you can consider purchasing a dual-system Android head unit with access to original Mazda system, built-in CarPlay and Android Auto from COHO / Roadonline. The disadvantage is that FM radio remains in MZD and you need to switch between MZD and Android to choose the audio source: FM radio or AUX - the sound from Android.
