Rutger Hauer & Alan Arkin WWII True Story | Escape from Sobibor (1987) Full Movie

Escape from Sobibor (1987) Full Movie is an award-winning WWII historical drama starring Alan Arkin, Rutger Hauer, and Joanna Pacula. Based on the true story of the Sobibor uprising, this classic World War II film follows Jewish prisoners who risk everything in one of the war’s most daring mass escapes. Inside the Nazi German Sobibor killing center in occupied Poland, Leon Feldhendler (Alan Arkin) knows that the prisoners’ lives have only been temporarily spared. When Soviet Jewish POW officer Alexander “Sasha” Pechersky (Rutger Hauer) arrives, Leon finds the experienced military leader he desperately needs. Together, they devise an audacious plan: isolate the SS officers, seize their weapons, and give every prisoner a chance to reach freedom before the camp is liquidated. What begins as a carefully organized underground operation becomes a desperate struggle through barbed wire, gunfire, and a surrounding minefield. Directed by Jack Gold and written by Reginald Rose, creator of 12 Angry Men, Escape from Sobibor combines careful historical detail, restrained performances, and steadily mounting suspense. The production was informed by Sobibor survivors, and the film received the Golden Globe for Best Television Film. Rutger Hauer also won a Golden Globe for his unforgettable performance as Sasha.
