I guess this is deathless? Woohoo... Also no durante as I don't have those yet on this account. I wouldn't say deathless matters that much in this boss anyhow; all my previous attempts went down the gutter as soon as some sinners started dying.
I didn't expect for this boss to be as troublesome as it was. If I had to say, it's because Annette thrives off of low chip damage as well as a lack of healing. Once she reaches 60% hp, her super dangerous second phase starts. Cutting (her Pride skill) sorta just does too much damage for a chip skill with the phase 2 buffs, and the random attack weight means turn order can get super out of hand with Coupez dans le Biais (her Envy skill) raising stagger thresholds for Cutting to break, which again, is random due to it gaining attack weight and not having it innately. All of that is exacerbated by her gaining regaining all of her shield once recovering from stagger, which will probably happen in phase 2 due to base IDs and E.G.O loving to do a lot of small chip damage.
There was this attempt I had where the turn order was Rodion, Faust, then Heathcliff, clashing against Cutting, Cutting, and Coupez dans le Biais. Rodion's Cutting's attack weight targeted Faust, who got staggered. Then, Faust's Cutting went unopposed onto Faust, and the attack weight targeted and staggered Heathcliff. Then everyone died from an unclashed Coupez dans le Biais.
Anyhow, fun fight! Not my favorite, but it wasn't the worst. A bit less difficult than Crimson God, if I had to say. I think the best strat here is to leave her at just above 60% hp with her first 2 stagger thresholds removed, then wear down the Cut Fabric with as little hits as possible before trying to get as much hp down before the third stagger threshold creeps up. You see me just skip her first stagger turn, and that's why.
Alteration Target also makes it a bit trickier, as you'll need Chains of Others on her every turn in phase 2, and if Meursault is the Alteration Target, there's a good chance he outspeeds all the other sinners and has to choose between dying (not having Chains of Others for Cutting and Coupez dans le Biais next turn) and dying (3 extra power uped Cutting and Coupez dans le Biais). There's a really good chance he'd also be at 9 Mark of Shearing then, meaning she gets 10 Cut Fabric if he doesn't use a defense skill. Also keep in mind, if an Alteration Target with 9 Mark of Shearing got staggered the previous turn from random Cutting attack weight, Annette recovers 10 Cut Fabric. There's a bit you can do to mitigate this, but it's still rather unfortunate when it does happen.
I haven't talked about this much so far in previous videos, but it'd be good to mention sinner choices. Meursault, Outis, and Sinclair are required. Yi Sang is needed to Crow's Eye View every single phase 2 turn and other turns when a sinner without an evade (or not Meursault) is going to be hit by the Alteration Target skill. Heathcliff is there to generate Envy since I didn't farm quite enough on the previous enemies. Faust has an evade and does decent damage, as well as having Representation Emitter to help with sanity if needed. Don Quixote is there to tank hits and fuel some extra Envy. Ideally Don Quixote dies at the start of phase 2 to swap in Ryoshu for extra damage, but oh well.
Also, music. I figured it kinda gets boring listening to the same song for 34 minutes straight (especially when it's not a unique theme), so I put in a bunch of Maplestory tracks. The more chill themes got put into phase 1, and then the more heavy themes in phase 2. I figured other Studio EIM stuff would fit fine into Limbus, but if it obliterated everything you hold dear I'll keep it in mind.
