Join us as we paddle 7 miles on Loch Lomond, Scotland in idyllic conditions on calm waters and visit 3 islands. Loch Lomond is 22.6 miles in length, an inland body of fresh water and the largest in Great Britain. We started our adventure from Luss Village on the Westside of Loch Lomond and kayaked to Inchtavanach Island. There we stopped on a shingle beach for a short coffee break. During this pitstop we explored the beach as temperatures steadily rose. The peace was broken after a large boat caused some unexpected waves to break on the shore buffeting our kayaks. As we were leaving a paddle boarder arrived with her dog riding up front. We then headed South hugging the shore of the island passing a private jetty and a couple of moored boats. We then landed on a tiny unnamed island to capture video footage of us paddling passed. I realised I had left my mobile which I use the control my drone manually 😔 After a short stop we paddled towards Inchmoan Island where we had to navigate a shallow sandy beach approach. We stopped for lunch, explored the sandy beach and took a dip in the tepid water with the temperature at 20C. I flew the drone in auto mode capturing some beautiful beach footage. We then paddled West to the tip of Inchmoan Island and navigated the shallows between Inchmoan and Inchcruin Islands. We then entered open water heading East as we passed Inchconnachan Island to the South (LHS). We then passed between 2 small unnamed islands/rocks as we headed into Luss Bay. We ended our journey at the busy Luss Beach having completed 7 miles. I have uploaded a Strava map video of the journey which provides a fly over of the route taken.
