5 CHEAP Pieces of Mountaineering Gear on Amazon EVERYONE IGNORES (But Mountaineers Secretly Love)

Think the best mountaineering gear has to be expensive? Think again. In this video, we break down five ridiculously cheap pieces of gear you can buy on Amazon today, gear that most beginners scroll straight past, but that experienced mountaineers quietly rely on trip after trip. From a plain Nalgene bottle turned into a nighttime heating pad, to Voile straps that guides use as an all-weather repair kit, to the SOL Emergency Bivvy that can genuinely save your life if the weather turns and you're forced to spend an unplanned night out, none of these picks are flashy, but every one of them earns its spot in a real mountaineer's pack. We also cover chemical hand warmers for high-altitude cold and Gorilla Tape as an all-purpose repair fix for gaiters, gloves, and tents. If you're building out your mountaineering or backpacking kit on a budget, these five affordable Amazon finds deserve a spot on your gear list before your next trip. Watch until the end to see which pick is the biggest hidden gem. Let us know in the comments which one surprised you the most. 1.
