Consider this my 600 Subscribers special - thanks, everyone! Here is a video that is long overdue. During the Tennessee trip of Fall 2017, I got some Music City Star action in the Nashville suburb of Mount Juliet, TN. Music City Star uses former Amtrak F40PH locomotives, and former Metra (nee-CNW) Pullman-Standard bi-level gallery cars (both of which made a stop along the line a necessity). So here is some action during the evening rush hour. Individual train descriptions are below. Enjoy! (Note: please excuse the sub-par camerawork in some of the clips. This is old footage and I like to think I have improved since).
3:44 PM: Nashville-bound train 156, the first inbound of the evening, makes its station stop at Mt. Juliet four minutes late, with NRTX 121 pushing on the rear. This is the former Amtrak 398.
4:17: Inbound train 158 makes its stop four minutes late with NRTX 381 for power. This unit proudly sports its old Amtrak number and Pacific Surfliner Blue & Silver scheme.
4:49 PM: 121 (with a great K5LA!) returns with outbound train 157 from Nashville, running on-time into Mt. Juliet. Rather than continuing all the way to the end of the line at Lebanon, train 157 terminates here.
5:00 PM: 157's set flips and, after letting off passengers, becomes train 160 back to Nashville. Gotta love the two horn blasts from the cab car as he departs!
Thanks for watching!
