She arrives on an archipelago known as the Boiling Isles, formed from the remains of a dead Titan and befriends the rebellious witch Eda Clawthorne (Malick) (alias "The Owl Lady") and her adorable demon housemate King (Hirsch). Despite not having magical abilities, Luz pursues her dream of becoming a witch by serving as Eda's apprentice at the Owl House and ultimately finds a new family in an unlikely setting. The second season, directly following the events of the first season finale, follows the main protagonists working together to return Luz to the Human Realm, help Eda confront her curse and search for the truth about King's past while contending with the evil Emperor Belos and his minions Hunter, formerly known as the Golden Guard, is a major character of The Owl House, depicted originally as an antagonist. He was the right-hand man of Emperor Belos and the former head of the Emperor's Coven. Hunter was presumed to be the nephew of Belos and as such, he was dedicated to his cause of ending all wild magic in the realm, but in reality, he is the latest version of the Golden Guard clones created by Belos to serve him faithfully in his mad quest. Upon this discovery, and realizing he can never go back, Hunter abandons Belos and the Emperor's Coven altogether. Following his desertion, Hunter relocated to Hexside School of Magic and Demonics in order to hide from the Emperor's reach. There, he found acquaintences in Hexside's students, and after coming to terms with his identity, Hunter made it his goal to help them stand against Belos and the Day of Unity. Luz Noceda is the protagonist of The Owl House. She is an eager, teenage Latina human[ who accidentally stumbled upon a portal to the Boiling Isles in the Demon Realm, a dimension where magical creatures are real, and humans are despised and treated as lesser beings. In order to prove herself as a witch, Luz begins learning magic under Eda's guidance, despite not having magical abilities of her own. Willow Park is a major character of The Owl House. She is friends with Luz, Amity, and Gus and attends the same magic school as them. She was formerly part of the abomination track, but is now on the plant track. Willow is naturally very gifted at plant magic, but since she was forced into the abomination track, many characters assumed she was incompetent. Following the Day of Unity and the unleashing of the Collector, she is currently stranded in the Human Realm. Augustus "Gus" Porter is a major supporting character of The Owl House. He is friends with Luz, Willow, and Amity, who attend Hexside School of Magic and Demonics with him. Following the Day of Unity and the unleashing of the Collector, he is currently stranded in the Human Realm. Amity Blight is a major supporting character of The Owl House. She is a prodigious young witch who attends Hexside School of Magic and Demonics. Although she was originally depicted as an antagonist, after bonding with Luz, Amity has become a better person, being able to stand up to her parents, regain her friendship with Willow, and become good and close friends with Luz, subsequently her girlfriend.
