1 Hour ENGLISH SPEAKING Practice | A Rainy Day That Changed Everything | Real Life English Podcast
Welcome to Speak English Daily.
In this 1-hour English speaking practice, you'll experience one unforgettable Saturday—from a peaceful morning and a simple grocery trip to a sudden August storm, a car that won't start, a dying phone, an unexpected conversation with a stranger, and a dinner that was never part of the plan.
Join Emma as an ordinary Saturday turns into something completely unexpected.
Her plan is simple: buy groceries, stop at a bookshop, go home, cook dinner, and relax. But then the rain comes. Her car won't start. Her phone is at 12%. She's wet, cold, and stuck in a parking lot.
Emma asks for help, finds shelter in a warm café, and meets Claire, a retired librarian sitting by the window. One simple question—“Excuse me, is this seat taken?”—starts a conversation neither of them expected.
This lesson combines natural storytelling, real emotions, shadowing practice, and practical English you can actually use when life doesn't go according to plan.
You don't need perfect grammar to communicate.
You simply need the confidence to speak.
WHAT YOU'LL PRACTICE
• 1 hour of slow, clear English for A1–A2 learners
• Shadowing practice for speaking fluency and confidence
• Asking for help in everyday situations
• Explaining problems when something goes wrong
• Grocery shopping and customer service English
• Starting natural conversations with strangers
• Making small talk in cafés and public places
• Offering help and responding naturally
• Real-life listening with clear American pronunciation
• Everyday vocabulary for shopping, weather, cafés, cars, and daily life
• Speaking about unexpected experiences and changed plans
The story moves from asking for help to giving help, using simple real-life expressions such as “Could you help me?”, “Is there somewhere...?”, “If you'd like...” and “I'll take you up on that.”
