How to Build a Tough DIY Trailer Lock for Ultimate Security

In this video, I show you how I built a simple yet tough DIY trailer lock for my custom square-drop camper. Using Thick, 1/4", metal and a lot of stick welding with 7018, I created a secure solution that gives me the confidence to leave my camper at a campsite, knowing it'll still be there when I get back from my adventures. Building a trailer coupler lock for the travel trailer out of material i have laying around. A lot of welding, a whole lot of grinding, and a little bit of thinking. I still have to clean it up and powder coat it, but i want to use it a little first and see how it works and what needs changes. I already know i will be reinforcing the band going around the bottom, in an effort to make it harder to grind through. I did take inspiration from‪@homesteadonomics‬ video building his lock. His is much nicer I have used this trailer coupler / trailer tongue lock many times now and find it gives me the extra comfort to enjoy myself leaving the camper unattended. Nothing it perfect, but a bit of prevention is worth its weight in the end and this coupler is heavy duty!
